As I sit by the window snacking on some deli meat (yep, my person knows just what I like), I have noticed that the days are getting longer. This worries me because I know that means we will start to see a lot of kittens at the shelter. Kittens that are too small to survive away from their mom, away from constant care. Kittens have a hard time at the shelter because it is easy for them to get sick. You can help out by becoming a foster family. In the next few months, we will have so many kittens at the shelter, that all of our foster families will be full. When this happens, the little ones are in danger of being euthanized. So if you would like to help, visit www.pets.maricopa.gov Check out the foster care information on our volunteer page. You would be saving lives.
Unfortunately, kittens make it tougher for the adult cats in our shelters to find forever homes. Many times they are overlooked for the small, energetic babies. But adult cats make great pets. They don't need as much care, but they have just as much love to give. They still love to chase some string or bat at a ball. They will sit in your lap and let you pet them. They will help you type by walking on your keyboard and jump on top of that important pile of papers for you. If you are thinking about adopting, now is a great time. In fact, my person told me that this week, Feb 16 - 21, every cat at the shelter can get adopted for only $50. So come on out and help one of our loving cats get their forever home today.
