Bebe here. It has been some time since I created a new post. But, what can I say? I'm a cat. I do things when I want. I did promise my person that I would post on here more often (in exchange for pieces of turkey).
The summer has been crazy at the shelter. I have seen so many dogs and cats coming in and out. It is almost a record summer with cat intake. It makes me sad to see all the kittens coming in without their mamas. They need homes and love so badly.
Then there are all the adult cats. They make me even sadder because they tend to get ignored when the kittens are at the shelter. Many of them don't think they have a chance at a new home with the kittens around. That's why you need to come to the shelter and adopt. We need to give the cats hope and love and a forever lap to snuggle on!
August 16 - 22, cat adoption fees are dropping. All cats over 6 months can go to their forever homes for $20. Kittens can go to a forever home for $50. The adoption fee covers spay or neuter surgery, a 3-in-1 vaccine and a rabies vaccine (if over three months).
If you are thinking about adding to your family, please get down to the shelter and adopt!

- I came to the shelter as a stray cat. I was a bit standoffish (because I was scared and shy) and nobody wanted to adopt me. But one particular staff member saw past my act and brought me into her office. Over time, she was able to bring out my true nature (yogurt helped!) and now, every morning I greet her with my off-kilter motor purr. I am now her loyal companion and fierce protector, as any dog who dares to come close enough would find out. I am a fast draw with my paw. I got lucky and found love in an unusual way. I want every shelter cat (ok... dog too, but don't tell anyone) to find a loving person.
